2020 Audi RS7 Sportback
The new Audi RS7 Sportback uses the same powertrain with the RS6 Avant, meaning a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 592 HP and 800 Nm of torque. This time around, the engine comes paired to a 48-volt mild hybrid system too.
Power is sent to all four wheels of course, via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Audi’s Quattro system has been appropriately beefed up for the needs of Audi Sport’s latest model, being able to shift 85 percent of the torque to the rear and featuring an optional sport differential on the rear axle.
Audi claims a 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, offering three top speed options; the standard 250 km/h, a more appropriate for Autobahn users 280 km/h and the supercar-baiting 305 km/h.
The styling remains one of the main talking points of the new Audi RS7 Sportback. The front end now hosts a very aggressive front bumper, complete with a model-specific honeycomb grille, side skirts and a matching rear bumper with a set of huge oval exhaust outlets. The real highlight though is the wider bodywork, with the fenders adding an extra 40mm of width in the RS7. The wheels measure 21 inches in diameter but you can opt for larger 22-inch items if you wish.
The new Audi RS7 Sportback rides on an adaptive air suspension as standard, offering three modes to choose from. Those wanting to take things a little further, Audi also offers the RS Sport suspension, which features steel springs and three-stage adaptive dampers. Dynamic all-wheel steering is also offered to simultaneously boost the RS7’s agility and stability.
Compared to its non-Audi Sport siblings, the new RS7’s interior features more aggressive seats with a rhombus pattern, RS-specific aluminum shift paddles, special RS displays in the Audi Virtual Cockpit and a shift light, among other. Audi also offer even more body-hugging RS sport seats dressed in perforated Valcona leather.
Sales of the new Audi RS7 Sportback have just begun, with first deliveries expected to begin in December. As for the price, Audi’s latest 305 km/h super executive will ask for at least 121,000 euros in its home market in Germany.
